Trouble always has a way of finding me. When a large man grabs me and throws me into the back of a white, windowless van while I’m being chased by an angry drug dealer, I can’t say I’m surprised. While it’s the first time this has occurred, I’ve been in weirder situations.

It’s probably more accurate to say I have a way of finding trouble. Because when the man says he was hired by my brother to save me, I’m not surprised. I am surprised when I end up on a ranch somewhere in Wyoming near the Rocky Mountains, in some kind of lucrative mafia witness protection program. When I mess that up within a week by sleeping with one of the owners, well, no one is surprised by that.

I left my home in Kansas City only to ruin things in Wyoming. I’m not sure I’m cut out to be cowgirl, but I’ll be damned if this breaks me.

Wild Goddess is book 4 of the Hidden Gods series. It is 4^th chronologically but does not need to be read in order. It is a standalone. It contains content that could be bothersome to some readers. This was my first playmarous read, and honestly I wasn't sure how one could possibly balance all those relationships together. But instead of glazing over it, april was honest and real of the sensitivity of a multiple feelings and responses. They have done a great job with this novel. 👏

This was my first FF read ever. And I can say it did not disappoint! New Trope unlocked thanks to April Gaisford. The angst of this book had me hooked. The age gap is perfection. All scenes were beautifully written, and the plot was incredible! I struggled putting it down and ended up devouring the book instead! This will definitely be one of my favorite reads here on out. Such a beautifully written Mafia story.
